we're registered

AFter 18 months and 3 sets of dossiers, we are now registered, the first of 3 steps in our Ukrainian ADoption. We are thankful and now must work on our papers again (hopefully for the last time) until our submission day in February 2010. That's the latest.

I've been reading your blog and was wondering a few things: Are you going through an agency? And are you adopting a child/ren under the age of 5? Can you explain the issue about the bundling problem that you had once before? We're adopting a sibling group and have a submission date of September 8th. I'm just curious to how the rest of yuor story goes in more detail. Hope to hear from you.

just wondering if you have considered adopting a child with special needs? Beyond saving a child from a horrible (and institutional) life it also allows you to be more aware of the childs needs before going to region (other families have usually met the kids) and you can decide what you can handle...oh and you have a MUCH better chance of getting a younger child. You should at least visit reecesrainbow.com and peek around ...my favorite is the other angel page (my personal favs are Dimitry and Wendy who are both blind..which does not prevent a healthy stable adulthood)...just planting the seed :)

Wow. Feb of 2010. That seems so far away. I assume you are going blind. Don't feel too bad. We waited 18 months before we were able to travel (we went blind) while many families were able to travel and be back home before we left. This just proves that God has a child for you but they aren't ready just yet.
Congratulations. This is news to be excited about. Only 1 more Christmas without that precious baby. Hang in there.
